Spring is nature’s way of saying ‘Let’s party!’ – said Robin Williams, and who are we to argue that. Joke aside, after a very long winter, we are happy to see flowers blooming, trees waking up. That means nature is welcoming us, and calling us outside. So, here in Istria, we take great matter into eating well. Luckily, this April is full of gastronomic events that will fill your stomachs while you soak the light spring sun in the manner of a true bon-vivant.
1. Days of Asparagus and Cuttlefish in Labin and Rabac
We love wild asparagus. It’s healthy, and it’s a mandatory spring detox ingredient.
This spring, Labin and Rabac are hosting a gastro rhapsody throughout April. Days of Asparagus and Cuttlefish will include 9 restaurants offering special menus which include traditional Istrian spring ingredients!
Risotto with cuttlefish sauce, beefsteak in asparagus sauce, brodetto with cuttlefish served with polenta, asparagus cream soup, apple and asparagus strudel cake and even candied asparagus, are just some of the specialties and spring you’ll have the chance to try this spring!

2. Sweet Wine and Walk Momjan

On April 14th, A motivating 7km walk awaits you with four refreshment stops with a selection of wines by four famous Istrian wineries and delicious authentic Istrian delicacies, along with plenty of good music and dancing.

3. On the path of Rovinj delicacies
Rovinj, delicacies –enough keywords for us to be curious about this event. From 7th to 14th of April you will have the opportunity to try delicacies from Rovinj’s best restaurants for a fair promotional price of 120HRK (16€) per menu.
Take a light spring walk through Rovinj’s Old Town (read our previous posts to discover the cutest corners), and then fill your stomach in one of 15 Rovinj restaurants. Reservations are desirable.
