Save the date, or better save the weekend of 11th, 12th and 13th of May for this year’s 25th edition of Vinistra. Traditionally held in Poreč since 1994th, Vinistra is a regional and international wine and wine equipment exhibition With increasing interest both in the competition and in the exhibition area, the event confirms its importance year after year. For those who have never visited: the exhibition consists of a jury and an exhibition area, and besides wines, the jury also evaluates olive oils and brandies.
During three days of the exhibition, a dozen thousand wine lovers tastes and explores the wine world of Istria, and on the accompanying gastronomic corner of the exhibition, Vinistra Gourmet, visitors can taste various delicacies of local and world chefs.
The constant increase of the number of autochthonous varieties brought to the evaluation part of the exhibition, the higher quality level of the average wine sample and new names awarded each year are a confirmation that Istria is steadily advancing in the wine world and is confirmed as the top Eno gastronomic destination.

Arman Marijan wines – best young Malvasia

The family-run vineyard and wine cellar of Marijan Arman are located in the Western Istrian winegrowing area, in the immediate vicinity of Poreč, in the Vižinada district, specifically in the village of Narduči.
The young Malvazija of Arman Marijan Wines was declared the champion of young malvasia on this year’s exhibition.
Giulio Ferenac wines – best mature Malvasia
If you are more into mature Malvasia than young, look no further. This year’s exhibtion champion for the best mature Malvasia is Giulio Ferenac from Giulio Ferenac wines. A winemaker also from the district of Vižinada continuously keeps receiving awards year after year, proving that long tradition (since 1840) brings the best results.
Fakin wines – best young Teran
From a long-standing family tradition, commitment and experience, Marko Fakin keeps climbing up the wine ladder on a very fast track. Though just a few years visible on the wine scene, he is constantly being recognized and awarded.
This year don’t miss his best young Teran, a red Istrian wine grown on the slopes of the Motovun hills.
Dobravac wines – best mature Teran
Wines of the western Istria vineyards with the special care and love of the Dobravac family. With the knowledge and experience and the latest technology and equipment, Dobravac family makes a quality and delicious drink rich in aromas. A feeling of tradition that is passed on to generations, leaving every wine lover breathless. Immerse fully into the gold medal red mature Teran.
Benvenuti wines – best Muškat Momjanski (Momjan Muscat)
The wine story of Benvenuti wines is a story about family, tradition and Istrian peninsula. Located in a quiet Istrian town of Kaldir, overlooking the nearby Motovun, the family grows three indigenous varieties – Istrian Malvazija , Teran and Muškat. These varieties have given the best results in history in Istria, so it is their intention to use the benefits of a unique territory in a sustainable way. This year, the gold medal for the best Muškat Momjanski goes to their San Salvatore muscat.
Geržinić wines – best Muškat žuti (Yellow Muscat)
It is best to end with the sweetest option: Geržinić’s gold medal awarded Muškat žuti. The small farm of the Geržinić family lies in the picturesque landscape of Vižinada, a region that can be reminiscent of a century-old vineyard tradition. The Geržinić family is currently processing its own 10 hectares of vineyards, most of which are Malvazija Istarska and other varieties: Chardonnay, Yellow Muscat, Teran, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. Our favorites: Yellow Muscat and Sauvignon.
