Located in a quiet Istrian town of Kaldir, overlooking the nearby Motovun, the family grows three indigenous varieties – Istrian Malvazija , Teran and Muškat. These varieties have given the best results in history in Istria, so it is their intention to use the benefits of a unique territory in a sustainable way. This year, the gold medal for the best Muškat Momjanski goes to their San Salvatore muscat.
It is best to end with the sweetest option: Geržinić’s gold medal awarded Muškat žuti. The small farm of the Geržinić family lies in the picturesque landscape of Vižinada, a region that can be reminiscent of a century-old vineyard tradition, . The Geržinić family is currently processing its own 10 hectares of vineyards, most of which are Malvazija Istarska and other varieties: Chardonnay, Yellow Muscat, Teran, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. Our favorites: Yellow Muscat and Sauvignon.
